Brief profile of Professor Mohammed I. Yakasai

Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai is a Professor of Educational Psychology and holds PhD (Educational Psychology) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Prof Yakasai obtained B.A./Ed (History) and M.Ed (Educational Psychology) degrees from Bayero University Kano. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Education, Bayero University Kano and has held several academic positions, among which are Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dean of Faculty of Education, Dean of School of General Studies and Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies. 

Prof M. I. Yakasai has numerous publications in the areas of Educational Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Tests and Measurement, Research Methods and Behaviour Management. He has co-authored and edited some books, among which are The Nigeria Education System (2008), Essentials of Educational Research and Proposal Writing (2009), Trends in Educational Research (2010) and Statistics in Education Research (2011). 

Prof. Yakasai has taught and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate (MEd and PhD) students. Among the courses being taught by Prof Yakasai are Behaviour Modification, Advanced Educational Statistics, Tests and Measurement, Psychological Testing and Developmental Psychology. He has served as an external examiner to some Nigerian Federal and State Universities. Prof Yakasai is a member of some professional bodies among which are Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), Nigerian Society for Educational Psychology (NISEP) and Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE). He is a Fellow of CASSON (FCASSON).
