Organisational Structure and Job Performance in Nigeria: A Correlational Study

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between organizational structure and job performance in Nigerian universities.  Two hypotheses were formulated and tested by using regression analysis. The tested null hypotheses were rejected and the alternate hypotheses retained.  The study indicates a significant relationship between organizational structure and job performance and that there is a significant relationship between job analysis and job performance of heads of department.  It was recommended from the findings that seminars and workshop should be organized for incumbent heads of department to strengthen their relation with their subordinates and hence promote job performance.  It was also recommended that job analysis framework should be undertaken for heads of department in the universities.
