Abstract
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Traditional treatments focus on pharmacological interventions and behavioural therapies. However, art therapy has emerged as a promising adjunctive treatment for children with ADHD. This systematic review synthesizes existing literature on art therapy interventions for children with ADHD, examining effectiveness in reducing symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing social skills. A comprehensive database search yielded studies meeting inclusion criteria. Findings suggest art therapy interventions can be valuable adjuncts to traditional treatments, providing a creative outlet for children with ADHD to express themselves, manage emotions, and develop social skills. The implications of these findings for clinical practice, policy, and future research are discussed.
