Insecurity is a global issue particularly in the developing countries. The alarming level of insecurity has been affirmed by research reports. For instance, the existing literature indicates high rate of insecurity in undeveloped countries, and that of Muslim majority countries. This has strong implications for science and economic development of any nation. This paper presents sources of data to indicate the extent of insecurity. The paper also highlights the implications of insecurity for science and economic development of any nation. Based on the discussion, conclusion is drawn and recommendations made on ways to tackle the issue of insecurity in our society among which is the creation of job opportunity and a strong collaboration between the developing and developed countries.
