Abstract
This study examined the role of digital entrepreneurship education in job creation and economic development in Obudu Local Government Area (LGA) of Cross River State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. One hundred (100) respondents were selected using stratified random sampling to ensure representation across different communities, genders, and occupational categories. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, including frequency counts, percentages, and mean scores, were used to analyze the data. The key findings revealed high awareness but only moderate participation in digital entrepreneurship training. Nevertheless, participants who engaged in training reported improved business skills and, in several cases, started new business ventures. Major barriers identified include high data costs, poor internet connectivity, and lack of access to smartphones or laptop computers. The study concludes that digital entrepreneurship education has a positive effect on job creation and can contribute to local economic growth in Obudu LGA. Recommendations include subsidizing data costs, expanding digital training programmes, and establishing community digital hubs to enhance access and impact.
